CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

ABSTRACT EXTENDED UNTIL TUESDAY 14 APRIL

Australian College of Mental Health Nurses

46th International Mental Health

Nursing Conference 2020

ABOUT THE THEME

The World Health Organisation has designated 2020 as the Year of the Nurse and Midwife in recognition of the vital roles they play in delivering health for all. This conference theme 2020 Vision: Mental Health Nursing in Focus recognizes the vital role mental health nurses play in the health of the community. It will showcase the knowledge, skills and the unique contribution mental health nurses make, and provide opportunity for discussion and debate around the challenges associated with recruitment and retention into the specialty. Enhancing the visibility of mental health nursing requires a sustained and targeted effort.

  • What is the unique and distinct contribution that mental health nurses make in contemporary healthcare?
  • How should mental health nurses develop their knowledge and skills to meet the future needs of people in our care?
  • How do we ensure we have a sustainable and skilled mental health nursing workforce into the future?

Keynotes will be invited to share their ideas on how we ensure mental health nursing not only survives, but flourishes - now and into the future. A range of workshops and concurrent presentations will provide practitioners - new, emerging and leading – with opportunities to learn and build on their practice.
