Message from ACMHN Events Manager, Ellen Fraser

It’s with sadness that I write to let you know the  ACMHN Board in consultation with myself and new CEO, Stephen Jackson have decided to cancel this year’s annual conference.

This decision has not been made lightly. It has been thoroughly considered and we have consulted with the Board as the COVID-19 situation has developed over the past weeks. Several recommendations were made and re-assessed as the developing situation continued to narrow our options. We surveyed our membership with an overwhelming response of 80% recommending to host in 2021. There was little support for a conference this year.

We fully appreciate that the annual conference is an important event to our membership and the mental health nursing workforce. We know that providing an opportunity to support each other and share knowledge is through an events forum, whether that be in person or online. We therefore plan to continue offering these opportunities.

We are formulating options for later in the year including online events to provide support and fraternity to members and all those in our wider community.

Please stay in touch, we would love to hear your thoughts on the cancellation and any ideas for events in the near future and how we can best support you through these challenging times.

Warm regards,

Ellen Fraser
